no, sorry. could you say it a bit slower?

sorry. there are icons of music and i imagine them in sort of systems like emotions in these 'systems' I see these three characters and their respective 'narratives' as belonging to the same 'orchard.'

maybe a bit louder? i'm not quite getting you.

try typing in capitals.

nah dont worry about it. i aint articulate about stuff, and find it very hard to explain cos it probably reads like nonsense, which i am sure it is, lol. every bit of it has an empirical meaning, and its the same with colours, tastes and sounds. I have this system i apply to things or i dont understand them. There are revolutions out the window in front of you too, but this thread is not about that :)

he's very, very good at making people dance - that's a big talent. but not a genius, noooo noo no way.

...that's not to say that he's not fucking good at what he does. he's got a brilliant sense of dynamics, which is half the battle in getting people to shake it. but genius, oh so very no. very few electronic musicians come anywhere near close to that, in my book.

wait. *thinks*. are you trolling? dammit, they get me every time...

ARRRR drunk. g'night all.

The fundamental difference between talent and genius is that genius opens new corridors that talent can only seek to emulate.

Talent is highly regarded where as genius remains largely misunderstood.

Otherwise it wouldn't be genius.

don't get me wrong, i think the first two prodigy albums are excellent - superb, even.

i don't think he's a genius though... two good albums ain't enough for that.

This person speaks sense. :)

alright if you like that sort of thing. the meaning to his songs are very, well he seems like he knows that he can only do or mean so much. what he evokes knows it's place sort of thing.

i agree with cheesypoof that often in trying to describe what a song means or is like, one can sound like you are just talking utter bullshit. but it's all acuurate to the experience.

i voted yes. obviously not on the same level as someone like mozart but for production id say yes. maybe past tense now though

basically the fat of the land is genius id say.

he did cahalie said and therefore can't be considered a genius.

certainly one of the better and most consietnt dancey type tunes makers though.

Trent reznor now he is a genius in my most unhumble of opinions. Oh and bowie.

wyes korn are a bit cliched although werent when they came out as they were one of the first nu metal bands. however mr reznor had nowt to do with korn. he is nine inch nials, producer for marilyn manson and once bowie and a complete genius(i can justify!). oh and johnny cash did the shit cover of hurt not lenohed cohen!!! good hangover?

dave

NIN version of hurt is a million times better than Cash's and i love Cash's version. trent reznor is class

I used to fookin worship that band:cool:

anyway; a lot of prodigy stuff sounds too dated mainly cos of liams drum programming and some of his riffs are laughable and cheesy. i like DJin and mixin dance music; prodigy stuff just doesnt work:(

i dont think fat of the land sounds dated at all but then im not expert on dance music. maybe the earlier stuff and the toytown stuff does though!

Music for the Jilted Generation was great. After that they were shit. Firestarter is dreadful. File alongside Chemical Brothers as dance music for people who don't really like dance music.

oh, i dunno. it's ok... i think it suffers from being overplayed at student discos and the like, but it's not a bad song. the drums are fucking heavy on it...

'dance music for people who dont like dance music' it fucking annoys me when people say that. i most certainly like dance music, i also like chemical brothers (some anyway) and the prodigy and i know many more people who are the same. that sentence is bollocks.
