Is it wrong to get a kitten because you're broody and sad?

I wondered about trying to get a tortoiseshell but they don't seem to turn up all that often :hmm:

That's coz tortoiseshells are loved and they can fly away if they are not!!
Look! Pampered cat, she doesn't have her necklace on in this one.

I can't help coz I think your ginger(who is really a marmalade imo) and your black one are lovely and don't require any competition, just extra loving :p

grinder said 'no'. and then got all scared when i started talking about two-year lead time on parenthood.

he may have a point - there is every possibility that our baby will arrive two years to the day after the cats did!

:hmm:

A tortie is just a black and white superimposed onto a ginger tabby.

My rule of thumb is count the number of rooms in your house, then get that many cats from a rescue centre. Each cat should have room that it can ignore the others from by way of indulging in cat politics.

Sage cat wisdom. They like their privacy and solitude too innnit?.

I want one like this but fluffly

I can definitely recommend tortoiseshell and white mogs as terrific hunters, which is useful as you're in a rural area.

The best hunting mog I've ever had was a tortoisehell and white, named Bracken. She capped an astounding career as a hunter by dragging home a stoat she'd killed.
