Is it true that a lot of people are Satanists?

This has been disturbing me a "little" of late. I don't know any real satanists, s'pose I used to know a few muddled junkies who were into Crowley and sometimes wonder if Tony Blair is one, but there is no real evidence. For sure there's a lot of sickos about, but it's not the same thing......is it?

Why the fuck are you worried by satanists? I don't get it. I mean they have the same book as the rest of the Christians, they are just another Christian sect really. And the only real theological difference between them and the rest of the bible bashers is that they believe that the apple that Adam and Eve got from the tree of knowledge was a gift rather than a curse and light coming to the earth was a good thing rather than a bad one.

All in all it is a pretty minor deal; especially since they are so few of them. Hardly as bad as the Jehovah Witnesses or those one true way in the word of god or what ever they are called nutters.

Ok, I'll rephrase my first question. Why the fuck are you MORE worried by Satanists than any other Christian sect? Been listening to a bit to much Catholic propaganda may be?

I've met loads of crackpot religious types of many different sorts, but I have never knowingly met a Satanist. They are either very coy or very rare (or both).

i think you'll find that the christians were not alone in picking bits. i've been reading robert graves recently and it makes you see that historically religion has been constantly shifting, nicking stuff off each other, appropriating and renaming gods, etc.

Yeah. Well, there wasn't always so much fighting about other people's Gods. Before the dominant monothiestic religions came about people people were largely polythiestic and might easily accept other people's dieties as worthy of worship.
