mine too... ask him about old cars engines or steam engines or hell anything pre ww1 and he's fine... introduce him to indoor toliets and women wearing trousers and he can't cope but even he's learned a pc...

Now you're talking, very easy indeed, laptops are always more expensive. You could probably get one for nothing, off Freecycle, we gave an old mac and a pc away when we moved last year.

An Asus Eee PC might suit you, an ultra mobile PC.
