Is it possible to dislike Stevie Wonder?

Maybe this woman hated Stevie Wonder.

Bump, cos I listened to every Stevie Wonder album from Where I'm Coming From to Secret Life of Plants today and can state with %100 confidence that the man is a musical genius and a gift to humankind

i occasionally consider buying secret life of plants when i see it in charity shops - what's it like?

There's a reason it's in the charity shop.

It's mostly instrumental, and mostly meandering and washy. The handful of vocal tracks are slow ballads. "Venus Flytrap and the bug" is a conversation between the two organisms, fed through a horrible vocoder, on top of a cheesey stepping bassline lift music "jazz" and is one of the worst things ever recorded.

There's some nice bits, but they're very much in teh minority.

Well said! :)

I defy you not to at least head nod or tap a foot! :P

2:40 onwards and his spirit is wonderous!

I don't dislike Stevie Wonder, but I did decide not to cram myself into the pyramid stage field to see him. Needless to say I had the rest of Glastonbury to myself.

We shared that exact same experience ..... you may have literally been the ONLY other person we met :p ;)

We went to see Stevie at the start, we were a zillion miles uphill from the actual Pyramid stage for the first few songs (not even POSSIBLE to get anwhere further downhill withiut the mega crush experience). But even as far uphill as we were, we quite soon got the MONSTER CROWD FEAR and wandered off to catch the rare Glasto alternative event of Arcadia fireshows etc that late on yet with very few people about

New to this thread for some reason -- I'm not against Steveie Wonder's classic period at all and I agree that a fair few of his tunes are absolute stormers, but also -- for whatever reason -- I never got massively into him in a fan type way. Thus I suffered at Glastonbury from not knowing enough of his output :o

I probably relate most to what trashy posted.

I don't dislike him, but I'll always veer to the funkier side of that era of RnB, mainly with Curtis Mayfield and Isaac Hayes.
