tbaldwin - you're bleeding all over this thread. want to come clean about what weird personal twisted problem lies behind this obsession of yours?

erm....I think Socialists should be against educational privellege not doing their best to maintain it...
I think more money should go into education not just for a privelleged minority..

Perhaps his mum used to lull him to sleep by sitting him in his playpen in front of OU broadcasts? :p

I've got the image of the bearded guy from the first printing of 'The Joy of Sex' stuck in my head for some weird reason. :D

It's a ridiculous hypothesis; anyone who watched that much OU would surely be able to spell privilege.

Another problem with H/E it seems to churn out a lot of snobs who really miss the point..

Lots of things "seem" in your canon, balders.

It's a nice lazy way for you to cast aspersions without stirring your maggoty stumps to actually confirm whether your prejudices have a basis in fact or not.

Still not voted, not sure again....Arse got splinters....

Looks like you used the wrong word? Shouldnt you have said something like "the semi literacy of common people like you proves that you are not clever enough to have a point?"

Millions of apologies for the lack of grammar...

Why would I want to vote in a poll where the two answers (that must have taken a lot of thought!) reflect your prejudices rather than any genuine enquiry as to what people think?
not sure again....
I've noticed. You're quite indexisive apart from your social prejudices. You're certainly sure who you hate, dislike or resent, aren't you?
Arse got splinters....

If your arse has got splinters why don't you get geeta to pull them out for you?

He'd only say that if he thought in terms of people being common or otherwise.

Nice try (again) at playing the "I'm a poor working class victim of evil oppressors" card, but it doesn't wash any better than your last effort did.

tbaldwin...I think you have some issues to deal with.

You can only deal with issues once you acknowledge that they're issues.

Balders is so wrapped up in his own little "class war" (which often appears on Urban to boil down to him and a few mates being working class socialists and everyone else being middle-class whatevers in his mind) that he doesn't realise that he's got issues.

As far as he's concerned, he's the prophet of "authoritarian socialism", and we're mostly "LIBERAL SUPREMACISTS".

As far as I'm concerned, he's about as socialist as Eric Hammond.

'Cos everyone knows that common people can't talk propa.

It's like you got your analysis of society from watching re-runs of 'A Christmas Carol' or something. Gor bless ya, guvnor!

No not really. But i think if you want social justice, you have to argue against educational privellege and those like you who want to uphold and strengthen it.
My authoritarian socialism is for the majority, your libertarian socialism seems to be just for 1%....

usually people argue for 'equal access to HE' - ie based on some fair assessment, not on who your parents were or how much money you have - do you have problems with that?

personally i think there's plenty money to pay for HE for any who might benefit - trouble is they keep spending it on stuff like invading Iraq and Trident.

The thing is you always come out with platitudes like this but you never actually advance an argument.

1 Yes its a silly arguement. It doesnt make any kind of sense at all,its a bit like saying you believe in equal opportunities or father christmas....

2 I think they need to spend more on education but not more on H/E. Its got nothing to do with Iraq.
