Is God a miserable cowardly bastard and a bad parent?

Divinity is a lie created by stupid, scared primates to lay some order onto a terrifying existence.

Clinging to the products of this initial human existesial panic is like holding yer dads hand.

You need to let go at some point or be doomed to follow his mistakes and his foolishness

You're just plain wrong.

dude. if the blood of the lamb gives you comfort, If the christian ideology makes you a strive to be a good person the KEEP AT IT.

Just recall how your faith once excused slavery (and still condones mysogyny)

If yer like my mum your faith is between you and the being you choose to believe in.
But the people practising under the moral veneer of christianity have some blood on their hands. More than some.

Don't assure me that god exists and i might.

I assure you, I swear on my broken heart. There is God,

Now why is this a problem for you?

If I were superstitious I'd almost end up thinking you thought there was a spiritual danger in allowing unanswered positive messages about God to be left unchallenged at the bottom of a thread.

Who on earth, other than you, said that this is a problem for me? You can by all means believe and swear what you like. I could not give a rotten log.

Well, on this one you're more than half right, I reckon.
Oddly enough, you might be surprised to hear that I have my own particular gripes against God, sometimes. Not a cowardly bastard and a bad parent, but other things.

I just find it odd that by now it's not obvious that there's a difference between historical christianity, and some current manifestations, and its true intent.,

It just seems fairly obvious you have a problem with it, otherwise, why did you start swearing at me, and why are you getting so worked up about it?

I've not sworn at your for your smug assertions at all. I'm not worked up. I wish you nought but good luck on your many later assertions. They remain though assertions and if you offer me your own life as evidence of them and especially the necessity of them then i *will* tell you to get to fuck*.

US evangelical mentalists unndermine sane christian responses. I've a lot of time for xtians who follow christs 'love one another as I have loved you' doctrine.

You're hamstrung by the appaling practises of those who claim to follow the teachings f Christ but actually pursue the horrific teachings of the old testament.

Well I rather agree. But my view is that with "christians" like Bush and Blair, the thing to do is to out them, and point out that they are utterly not part of the christian way of thinking.

Darios, - I've written enough on the subject in this forum, if you're acxtually interested.

Not assertions. Knowledge.

Yes I am actually interested in what you mean by this word.

However, doing a search on your username and 'God' isn't possible because the search engine won't accept words that are three letters or less.

The alternative is to scour through all of your posts until I happen to find the one where you provide a definition.

So please either provide a definition or point me to a thread where you do so.

OK, well so am I. What did you mean when you said, aren't I letting God down...?

I just meant that if a non-believer asks a believer about God that you're meant to say why/what/how you believe in God.

It's all I meant, but if you've explained it somewhere other than just saying 'there just is'...then i'd be interested to read it.

Seriously.

Why is it a pity though?

I'm starting to seriously think there really isn't a "God" tbh.

And I'm saying that as someone who's believed in "God" for my entire adult life.

Well, the good news is trixiet that you can continue with this 'God', but only in the concept as hinted at by your use of " ".

But there's some subtle changes required. Firstly, quit the believing! Secondly, recognise that we can indeed have a 'God', but that it's nothing at all to do with what those religious maniacs have been banging on about for so long.

I don't know if this will do it for you, but go back to any texts that have this superman 'God' in them, and replace the word 'consciousness' every time. See how the text alters in the meaning it gives you...

'God' is formless, timeless, and the state of being that humans have long aspired to reach. 'He' really is nothing more than a state of no-mind.

God is, i am not. I am, God is not... it's all about consciousness. In pure consciousness there is no God as described by the religious nutters, but the person with that pure consciouness is God.

Confusing, or makes sense?!
