To go back to the question about non-white england prospects, the brightest I can think of is Owais Shah at Middlesex, who might well get a place on the winter tour. He'll certainly get on the A tour at least.

Sadly I can't think of a wicket-keeping batsman who fits the bill.....

And Mark Butcher - I know he's been mentioned before, but he got loads of chances.

I think the most important point was raised by Donna Ferentes about the lack of cricket in schools, which is massively important

The place I work for I recently discovered sold the cricket gear because no-one was interested. Me and my mate had thought about doing some nets, given the popularity of the ashes, maybe getting a team together but we can't because we don't have anything except the nets themselves. :mad:

I bet PE teachers across the country are going to get pestered next term.
 
Christ i would hope so, and if they've not got then i hope a local club has that wiil let them use the facilities. For too long it's relied on this sort of happy co-in-cidence.

We're not even looking at 60% of the people in the country.

We are looking at getting some stuff - ironically from the place we apparantly sold it to in the first place.
We have a basketball academy, but no cricket bats.
Says a lot.

Neither me or my mate are PE teachers so I dunno how we'll go on legally. Might have to get a PE teacher to stand there.

Do you think we could have Alan wright back? You seem to have 14 left backs and loads of money. Presumably scissors are more profitable than rock and donkeys at the moment. Any chance of Wright on loan?

Stop asking me if you can have our players!!! I'm not in a position to let Sheff Utd players come to Blackpool!!!

However, I'd say its a fair possibility he could go on loan somewhere. We just sold Jon Harley but bought David Unsworth (who is now our first choice left back) I think Alan Wright also figured in our cup game. We also have Derek Geary and Rob Kosluk (both right-backs who can play left-back) and I think it far more likely that one of them two would go before Wright or Armstrong

We outclass you in every area of the field so I'm not quite sure where you get this silly idea from that you are somehow the best in the league. Wednesday fans still suffer from similar dillusions and look where they are (and with any look where you'll be soon enuf seein as despite your massive debts your dodgy chairman somehow manages to keep pulling millions of pounds out of his arse to sign new players)

You might be the bigger club but lets face it, thats hardly suprising when you've been in the Prem all its existance. I'm sure if the roles were reversed we'd be exactly the same.

However, unfortunately for you and the pigs, big stadiums and big crowds (well in Wednesdays case anyway not sure where your supports vanished to this season) dont put points on the table...
 
I'm not quite sure what a "years old shite" is but I shall apologise. When you said "because we're a bigger club than you" I didn't realise thats what you wanted me to argue about in order to direct the arguent away from our team being better than yours as you obviously dont really have a come back (after all, statistics and results can prove we are the better team)

So go and pretend you're still a "massive" club with oooooooh massive crowds of what? 20,000?! Blimey that is impressive!
