Is anyone doing evening classes then?

Have just organised my one to one Kikuyu lessons :)

Mũthii ndoimbĩkaga irigũ.

Oh yes indeed.

After last year's German frenzy, I'm taking it easy with a City & Guilds in Ceramics.

We did dativ today. Still no idea what it is, but die becomes der and you stick an 'n' on the end of plurals  :D

Der die das die then they all change according to.... the weather or something? It may as well be it made NO SENSE to me at all. We don't have this crap in English.

no, we just have even more ridiculous "rules" that actually don't make ANY sense whatsoever!!! teehee.... i only realised this when doing my TEFL. How many times did I have to say.... there's no reason, that's just the way it is, learn it.

I'm prepared to admit english as a language to speak (ie pronounce) must make fuck all sense to a foreigner. But to read and write it is a lot easier (no genders for a start). Whereas German is the other way round. It's easy to pronounce but really hard to get all the grammar right. Like you said, the only thing to do is learn it and not ask 'why'. But I don't think I could unless I was living in a German speaking country.

no evening classes for me this year but finishing off my masters :)

I should also have considered this *before* enrolling on an evening class, but I think I'll go insane if my masters consumes my whole life for another year!

mine is only part time, I work full time too, and between that and the making cakes I don't have any time left :( :D

Mine the 10th... maybe we can compare notes! ;)

defo - but I tell you, if there's not at least one single hot guy I'll be demanding my money back ;)

(that's why people do evening classes, right?!?!?)

snap - well apart from the cakes bit. I'm pretty good at eating them though :p

(aside: would you be up for an Oxford meet in the near future?)

to be honest, I dont want there to be any hot guys in my class... I *really* want to concentrate and learn the language... far hotter men in South America, chicka! ;)

Oh bugger, I was going to start a course in woodwork/cabinet making or furniture restoration but didn't have time to even look at courses, let alone actually enroll in something.

I suppose I'd be looking at January starters now.

I need some initiative, some motivation.

Chicken and egg situation: get job with less hours/get qualification in something vaguely interesting I could do for a new job.

meh...

I'd love to but the catering courses at the uni are done miles away in Buxton and the college where I did my last adult ed course haven't update their website since Septemeber last year! The other college have updated their site and the only language courses they are offering are Spanish or French. I'm kinda trying to pick up a bit of Japanese at the moment despite knowing I'm not much cop with languages and I thought I might try that or Chinese.

I keep meaning to find out if the local uni or arts college does an evening film photography course, or just something that teaches dark room stuff. I am, of course, doing a full time degree at the moment, so that takes up my time - something to think about for when I finish next year maybe?

I've always wanted to do evening classes though, in all sorts of things. Not basket weaving though. Or flower arranging. Or car maintenence.
