Is 30 to old to change careers?

Is 30 too old?

No. Definitely not. One of my exes ended up as a post-doc and got to work in Europe and the US in her career and decided to jack it all in last summer and come back to the UK (which was kind of how we met.) She wants to become a medical doctor and is looking to head down that path. She's in her mid 30s.

I had a wee chuckle to myself when I saw this post.....I am 30odd .....I recently returned to college after a long time as youth worker to sit an HND in social sciences/care......before going I had visions of being the oldest in the class....why! I even contemplated the whole 'stereotypical student look' before going, looked out my ole 'meat is murder' badges and duffle bag and everything.....then I decided to just go and be me and see what happened....turns out I'm the second youngest in the class and they were all even more paranoid than me about being there....I have one lady who obviously felt the 'stereotypical student look' was the way forward and well at 38 I'm afraid she looks a bit sad and insecure......so I think change is good at any time in your life .....it's also a great motivator to sort out other things in your life that may be due a bit of an over haul and you just hadn't noticed.......

I would hope it's possible to change your whole worklife and career anytime within your life. If you feel you're in a rut, run. As fast as you can. Not into a bus though.

Bollocks it is! I'm turning 30 and I'm planning on changing my career several times in the future - all the way up to my retirement.

What a strange idea!

I've not even started a career so don't worry about having had one and wanting to change it!!! Crikey!

Do things that make you happy. If it doesn't, it most likely needs changed...
