Iron Man

Really loved it. Witty dialogue, believable effects and talented actors really make a great comicbook movie. Can't wait for the sequel!

While Iron Man 2 has a release date of April 30, 2010, we are also hearing about some other movies and their release dates. Thor will be on June 4th 2010 and The First Avenger: Captain America has a date of May 6th 2011, but it’s the year of 2011 that looks like a real treat.

The Avengers has been given a date of July 2011, this movie will include some of the best characters, these will be Thor, Captain America, Incredible Hulk, and Iron Man.

Marvel is for kids...
Where are the DC/Vertigo films?

bring on The Preacher. Sandman. and a Hellblazer set in Newcastle and London not friggin' america!!

saw Ironman and loved it.
rang pretty true to the comics - except that the original stark was a tad too serious...

I want to know what they were doing testing weapons in a hostile country in the first place. Don't they usually test weapons in the Nevada desert? I mean you wouldn't go to an area that is over ran by the taliban to test your latest missle... in a convoy of two or three humvees. I gave it 3 / 10 at IMDB.

yeah exactly, and that arc power source, that wouldn't work, and i can't understand how they make suits that are metal and so easy to move and use, and how did he learnt o fly it so quick, and why was the AI so clever and and and and

oh yeah its a cartoon based fantasy film, full of pretty colours and explosions thats perfect to watch on bank holiday monday when i dont want to use my poor hurting brain.

can't you just watch a film for a bit of light hearted fun .

You watching a pirate, you naughty boy!!?

I thought the film was preposterous. It had more holes than a Crazy Golf course, and was just as frustrating. Where did you store the fuel for your flamethrower? Why is your robot butler so sarcastic? How much did Gwyneth Paltrow cost you, and shouldn't she have acted in return for so much money??

It's a super-hero film... :hmm: Its okay Sunday evening entertainment. It ended way to quickly, though...

Not sure Preacher would work in the UK. Theres a heavy southern vibe to those comics.

I thought it was wicked. "Scotch - I'm starving"

My only complaint was 'there wasn't enough Iron man'.

Anyoe spot Samual L Jackson as Nick Fury at the end of the credits?

and the depiction of christ's present imbred family. the church. God as a coward that abandons heaven etc.

if the Passion of Christ and that Jerry Springer Musical caused a stir, imagine if they were to release this? :D

Marvel is just so safe.

Well heres there for 2 seconds and you have to wait until the end of the credits to see him.. so its not really spoiling anything. Most people are unaware... Anyway I am not a Nick Fury expert but he's pretty cool, and has always been black in the comics I read.

I agree.

If only the British had made Dread though, that coulda been a masterpiece.:(

Fuck yeah. There's endless cinematic potential in Dredd.

Personally I think if anyone's going to make a proper one of it, it should be Verhoeven. After all, Robocop is a classic and it's essentially the same kind of theme...

Got to agree here. Just not sure who I'd like to see cast as Dredd (note: not fucking Sly)

and superman can fly.
spiderman can spin webs.
batman built the batcave and a seventy year old butler.
blade is half-vampire! half-vampire! who's heard of such a thing!

wish people just grow up and be more realistic in films./

Saw it last night. I don't usually like comic book films, but i liked this one. Maybe it's because i didn't know much about Iron Man before i saw it, but i did like that we saw a lot of the man behind the outfit stuff. Was more believable for me in a strange way.

Gets a  from me

as for 'realistic' comic book heroes, heard they've made The Punisher II.

cos the first one (not the lundgren version) was a complete disaster...:(

Nice film. Enjoyed it as much as you can a summer blockbuster. For a B list comic (I mean seriously who hasn't heard of Batman or the Hulk but not everyone has heard of Iron Man) I thought it was good and sets out the possibility of a sequel at the very least.
