No one drinks any fizzy drinks and has the right to imagine them healthier than others! 
This thread and my comment had nothing to do with health, perceived or otherwise. I generally hate fizzy drinks other than water...but then the fiery ginger beer calls me sometimes and Woooooot! Tastebud and bodily joy!

I accidentally discovered Guarana on a long haul Varig flight in the late 80s. The hardcore recipe. Before PC gone mad removed the coca, morphine, and whatever.
My parents didn’t only have to peel me off the plane ceiling, my nascent addiction was so hardcore that my only birthday request (11th bday, or summat?) was *more guarana*. I got, like, 4*2l bottles.
And probably serious withdrawal symptoms.
Can’t remember those, though, so everyone’s a winner ay.

Bloody love irn bru. I like the Fanta in glass bottles you can get in some of the Pakistani shops here too, its ridiculously sweet and the lime and lemon flavour is practically luminous.

We still have a pop man, he does deliveries on my street on a Friday afternoon and you give him the empties back when you get your delivery. There are a couple of South American drinks that taste very similar. Peru's Inca Cola and especially a Colombian one (which really does taste like Irn Bru) have the same place in native hearts as Irn Bru does for Scots.
Guarana Antartica is better than Irn-Bru and is so popular that it's on the Brailian footy teams training tops as a sponsor. It's got a taste of Guarana berries.
It's so iconic that this ad depicts Maradona in a Brazil shirt, before waking up after a nightmare saying "Oh God, I drank too much Guarana Antartica."
