The fact that the British people do not show proportionate interest in the fact that their government is slaughtering tens of thousands of foriegners testifies all the more strongly to their complicity.
For a guy who professes to be highly intelligent you're remarkably stupid.

What is stupid is to imagine that the Brits and Yanks somehow 'oppose' the war, when both of them have conclusively voted *for* it.

The government voted for it - I don't think it would have passed a referendum.

Only two parties on the ballot with a chance of forming the next government - neither of which were against the war.

If that's going to be classed as a referendum on the war, then those elections Saddam Hussein held where he won 99.8% of the vote were free and fair and he wasn't a dictator after all.

What? Everyone? Even those who didn't vote for Bush/Blair but who voted for other parties?

The words "sweeping" and "generalising" seem most apposite here.

If it was my assertion, I would base it on the fact that a large majority of Brits and Yanks voted for pro-war parties, and that they both re-elected the party that started the war.

Well, if you wanna call just over 36% of those entitled to vote a "majority" for Labour then fair enough.

I'm not making any claims on that. But to suggest that a general election is directly equivalent to a referendum on the war is remarkably stupid.

The Brits and the Yanks had the opportunity to end the war by democratic means. When presented with the same opportunity, the Spaniards seized it immediately. The Brits and the Yanks notably did not. This speaks volumes about the moral condition of those societies. No excuses will do.

You utter idiot.

Can we have incredible stupidity added to the bannable offenses in the FAQ please?

I think you might find that the election victory in Spain was as much about the electorate being lied to as it was about any kind of referendum in regard to the war in Iraq.

Which shows a fine ignorance of the difference in systems of government and governance between those countries, and appears to omit the "blowback" factor entirely from the Spanish election.

I wouldn't be going around calling for the list of bannable offences to be increased if I were in your position, mate.

The British people were also lied to, they knew they had been lied to, and yet they *still* re-elected the mudering bastards who lied to them. That shows a very serious moral deficiency. How can anyone disagree?

Because your logic is so fucking pathetic it's worthy of a place on prisonplanet.

Edit: As you know, i think you're a twat, so you can avoid using the "mate" term.

Frankly I'm amazed you still dare to show your face around here, mate.

Ah but this is a 'secret war' and not for the knowledge of muggles like you and I ;)
