To oppose Namazie's campaign to make Britain have no religious courts/law (even Jewish Beth Din) is not to defend theocracy in Iran - it is to oppose her campaign to remove Beth Din as a hard-won religious right of British Jews.

My flatmate just got back from there with the most amazing stories of being in the crowds and getting locked up by the police for no reason (well for being English) He basically had to go into hiding in Tehran before fleeing the country earlier. Nuts. I still didn't get the full story because he was to exhausted to go into it all.
