iPod Hifi

I'm becomming totally enamoured with the idea of getting an iPod HiFi. You know what would make it a done deal for me? If it had an integrated DAB digital radio. *sigh*

Ok i just bought it. Roughly about 270 quid.
The sound is awesome. Currently playing Love Shop and its sound is very clear, the bass and treble sound very good and the amount of power in the one small unit is really impressive.
one small moan is the menu button on the remote doesn't correlate to my ipod nano. ie. it does fuck all but no worries, I'm mainly going to be playing music from my pcs through it. If you have a small gaff or maybe no need for a full stereo (all your tunes on softcopy, student with rich parents, in prison) i would recommend it.

I so want one of these.

well I bought it a couple of months ago. It's good. and internet radio sounds great through it. As do DVDs. It's loud enough for my apartment too.

I can't really spoil myself, since I bought an 8gb black nano yesterday I can't afford that tbh. Well, I can, obviously, or I wouldn't have bought it.

When do I break it to him? Or do I try to hide if from him for the next 12 months?

Gear4 will be doing an alarm clock soon with an ipod dock and radio, but it's not DAB unfortunately. It sounds quite nice and looks nice.

To the people advising jacking an ipod into a stereo using a minijack from the headphones...definitely get decent digital leads or even better get a dock connector kit. I think the sound is better through a decent dock rather than the headphone socket.



The ipod hi-fi sounds quite nice, but in a comparative test the Klipsch iFi was miles better if your going for a large speaker system for your pod. The bass bin is huge. Bit pricier though...

A friend of mine bought one and he's very happy with it.

FWIW, he runs a small recording studio so he's a bit picky about his sound.

Remind me never to record there then, anyone that thinks anything coming out of an ipod sounds good needs their ears syringing...
