Well amazingly, the insurers have changed their minds!

They wrote it off yesterday, saying it was uneconomical to repair, then phoned me back today to change their mind, partly due to the fact the bodyshop staff had wanted to buy it themselves rather than see it scrapped.

They can't do the repair because they're not allowed to use used parts and you can't get them new, but they can give me the best part of £1000 to do it myself, and they're continuing to insure the car 3rd party till I get a new MOT, and them reinstate my fully comp insurance. Result!!! *cries again*

I've sourced the part already for £150 fitted , getting a quote for the paint, and it's just about driveable to the end of the road where the garage is
