Inland Empire

I only noticed her because I read before that she is in it, so I kept looking out for her. For a while I was wondering she was one of the rabbit people. :)

The ending is amazing and every single time it gets ruined by the confusion caused people getting up to leave then as soon as they realise it is not over trying to dash back into their seats bumping into others wanting to stand up.

I just can't get enough of this movie on the big screen, and wish all the impatient people would disappear.

There is a beautiful song in there called something like Strange Love (it is played about four-fifths of the way as a soundtrack to the snowy streets) that according to the credits was written and performed by Lynch himself.

I just went and saw this again ( it's on at the Ritzy in Brixton at 1.15 this week ) and it was even better second time round , I've also just pre-ordered it for it's DVD release which is 20/08

i. Definitive Lynch, the mark of genius, three hours of bliss,

or

ii. a near miss, doesn't quite come together, too clever but not really clever enough.

I think it is more i. than ii. but I'm not quite sure. Watchjed twice, must see again.

Oh, the rabbits and the dancing women are inspired. :)

Definitely the first option for me, I loved it. :)

Laura Dern is terrific in it and the DV format really suits Lynch IMO.

Oh and yes, the rabbits are ace. The Rabbits short film is here.

Are you joking? I got a review disc of this a couple of months ago, I think it's the only film I have ever had to start fast forwarding though. Utter utter bollocks. No wonder there was no cinema release.

I love pretty much all Lynchs other work but this looks crap and goes on too long.

The rabbits were good though.

I think the no 1.

Although I was wasted when I saw it and I reckon there are a few too many shots of moody corridors.

Bump!

ITV are showing this in a minute although it looks like they have edited at least an hour out of it.

Although Lynch's films are always confusing I honestly think he just made this one up as he went along but failed to nail down a narative. The 3hr film if you can put up with it is an experience though. Kind of like bad acid trip where you land up swapping identities with other people.

EDIT looks like they have re-arranged the schedule and aren't showing it after all. It's showing in my freeview planner though.
