Injured squirrel - what to do?

Don't be revisionist - you called the RSPCA 'useless'. Ever considered that they may have other priorities?

And besides wanabee thread controller, wasn't it you who told one poster to 'fuck off' on the sixth post of your own thread. I think you've got honesty issues.

Oh, but that was ajdown trolling. That doesn't count does it? ;)

It was the council's own building and the RSPCA didn't do the rescue, they just told the council to do it and fix the netting so no more birds get caught :)

This may well have more to do with cruelty than anything else.
Even vermin have to be disposed of 'nicely' and being trapped under netting til death doesn't quite fit that criteria.
The RSPCA shouldn't knowingly let trapped things die slowly iyswim.

Even if the RSPCA or other animal rescue place would agree to come out, I'm not sure they would be able to find it.

It is sad, but that's life in the wild for you.

Yeah exactly :) They're not going to rehabilitate a pigeon or whatever, but to say that they just go "Vermin, fuck 'em" isn't true.
That's the sort of angle I'm going with on the wildlife professionals too, rather than just getting some random to stomp on the poor thing til it gives up breathing.

well now.
i've been wondering about the squirrel, hoping it is ok. and that nobody has stamped on it.
i worry about the smallest, silliest things.
i'd rather be worrying about a squirrel than worrying about half the shit i've got to get done at the moment (which i am doing, i'd just prefer to autopilot through it)

so i are selfishly worrying about a squirrel, which has been selfishly injured and attempting to steal the rspca's resources or something and should just be squished (is that the gist of it, tarannau?)

rushcroftroader - and what exactly is wrong with rats? :hmm:

;)

As it happens, I was watching an old episode of "Airport" at half six on Saturday morning, where they rescued a squirrel which had got trapped in some aircraft equipment. I was channel hopping and then had to watch the whole thing to see what happened to the bloody squirrel

Apparantly because squirrels are officially classed as vermin, you're not allowed to release them into the wild after they've been in captivity. So after they'd treated it, they had to find a wildlife sanctuary that would take it in.

Oh, and they were feeding it antibiotics by injecting them into grapes. So evidentally grapes aren't so lethal to squizzers after all.

this thread appears to be made of misinformation and squizzle haterz :hmm:

apart from us :)

cheers for the grape clarification ;)
