Ingrid Betancourt freed after being held by Farc Columbian rebels for 6 years

Fair point that they maybe were killed in cross fire or by the army. But probably not - why take hostages if you aren't going to kill them?

Huh? Why take hostages if you *are* going to kill them? Why not just kill them in the first place? You make less and less sense.

Bollocks. The Andean nations are Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile.

Lol! U didn't even glance at the link, did u? :D Here's another one for you to ignore!

http://www.comunidadandina.org/quienes/colombia.htm

Colombia es el segundo país de la subregión en extensión territorial y el único que limita con dos mares, el caribe y el océano Pacífico. Su territorio está atravesado de sur a norte por la Cordillera de los Andes.

(Basically: the Andes mountain range runs across Colombia from south to north.)

:D

I was amused by the stories of a ransom being paid; the FARC must be getting desperate if it's true that they accepted a massive bribe to be made to look like total imbeciles.

And on the Andes:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andes

Colombia
* Galeras, 4,276 m (14,029 ft)
* Nevado del Huila, 5,365 m (17,602 ft)
* Nevado del Ruiz, 5,321 m (17,457 ft)
* Ritacuba Blanco, 5,410 m (17,749 ft)
* Snow Mountain of Quindio, 5,215 m (17,110 ft)

Even Venezuela is an Andean country.
