Absolutely, there isn't a single state in the region that wasn't designed by either the British or the French. Indeed all nations are constructed, perhaps Dravinian could tell us where in the world we might find a country that arrived purely organically.
Yes as I already said all countries are constructed.
Most do so by internal action, whether it be losing a war or winning a war etc.
Israel had no internal action before it was created, nor did any other of the states that were drawn on a map by foriegn powers. This is what makes them artificial compared to other states and nations.

You seem to be getting caught up in the idea of 'war' being a defining factor, it isn't, it was an expression of a countries people defining the future of their country.
Israel didn't have any people, it wasn't a country, until someone else drew on a map. Therefore its people couldn't have defined its length and breadth.
And yes I know some are going to lay some claim to the land and say that the people of israel were living there before it was israel and therefore defined itself as a country, but they didn't.
The United Nations defined it as a country.

I think you're lumping in more than a quarter of the world's population with Saudi Arabia. I used to believe that secularism was and should've been the foundation of democracy for every nation in the world. I was wrong; I've come to realise pluralism is. Lets not forget, the only constitution in the world that permits same sex marriages, abortion and other proceedings that most Western countries are opposed to, is a nation with a Muslim majority. And they seem to be doing quite well...

as for kosovo, i always got the impression that albanian society (whether in kosovo, macedonia, albania or the like) has always been fairly atheistic ...i could be wrong though, of course
you're right though in that countries with a muslim majority are not necessarily better or worse than any other country!
How can something that doesn't exist be suggested as having internal action? Wouldn't it need to exist to do that.
