In praise of Portuguese custard tarts

To be honest, I haven't tried one from there. I saw them when I was walking past this morning :o

I'm willing to act as tester. I will report back. Damn - I forgot to buy one when I was out :o

I'll put a note in my diary for tomorrow

what is Woking renowned for? :D

According to Woking Council:

Famous author H.G. Wells lived in Woking and based the landing of the Martians from his famous book `War of the Worlds' on Horsell Common in Woking. Woking has a few famous sons and daughters, including pop legends Eric Clapton and Paul Weller and culinary queen Delia Smith

So now you know

I haven't seen much evidence that Delia has left her mark though...

I agree about these custard tarts - all the coffee shops round here sell them, and they are gorgeous!

I think you are allowed to be addicted to them if you are breastfeeding, personally. In fact, I think being addicted to them should be actively encouraged, even if it means stealing money, so long as that money is stolen from someone who lives in the same bedroom! :D

Enjoy!

Just continuing to derail about Woking, I just popped out of the office and saw a sign advertising "Woking Deli". With a faint hope of a portuguese pastry in the offing, I went to investigate....

I'm not kidding, it's a shipping container with a hole in it that is selling crisps out of boxes

:D

I'm jealous of all the Portuguese custard tart eaters. I had a plain egg custard tart from down the road earlier, and you could definitely taste (smell) the egg.

I still haven't got one. I'm officially rubbish.

I have now put a note in for tomorrow. The issue will be addressed and resolved

You need a bullet point in the PCTE minutes, otherwise this will be on the agenda for next month's change control meeting.
