charlton have long built their support by laying on busses to areas outside their catchment area (kent, surrey etc). now that the, ahem, good times under Curbishley(getting to 40 points in january then falling apart, but staying up, and never getting past the 4th round in the cups) have gone, watch that 'support' dwindle. the first year they came down from the prem they offered their fans a 'buy your season tkt now and if we go up get next years free' offer, which went down well (as have charlton now), i cant see the club doing similar again, as the payments in the Championship are nowhere near the difference you get in the premiership.
the fact that they are currently paying Mark Hudson 14k per week does raise a smile, but not as much as his comment on signing for Charlton "playing for charlton offers me the best way out of the championship".
lovely suff.
