If we had global workers control, then we wouldn't have immigration controls. We wouldn't have economic migration because without economic competition, there wouldn't be no economic imperative for people to emigrate. If we had workers control in Britain only, then no we wouldn't have immigration controls then either.

Yes I agree that in a world under global workers control there would be no need for immigration control.

But if only Britain had workers control, there would still need to be immigration control as you would still get people from areas with unemployment, war and famine wanting to immigrate to Britain.

However, I think someone already said that a workers state cannot exist for long in one country without becoming corrupted or destroyed.

All this does not mean socialists should campaign against immigration controls NOW, because as has been well documented on the other immigration thread, there are too many benefits for capitalism and too many negatives for the working class from unrestrained immigration.
