i'm thinking of getting a ford galaxy

Buy the Galaxy.

Take out the VW VR6 engine.

Drop said engine into a Mk2 Golf.

Grin :D

[and the insurance won't cost as much as sourcing a Golf Mk3 VR6 lump would since the engine came from a Galaxy]

Galaxys are rubbish. Overpriced and crap.

If you want an MPV (and for 3 of you it seems a bit excessive) then get a jap import - Mazda Bongo or Toyota Lucida. Half the price for twice the car.

Fuck the Galaxy and get a Galaxie

Comfortably seats about 26

sister in law just brought a galaxy for exactly the same thing... well she has number 4 on the way actualy but the big perk the galaxy has to her in comparison to the audi and the big boy merc she had before is that the baby seat straps safeley into the middle seat so that she can see the little man when driving without mirror adjustment or straining round.... she is as happy as can be with the beast.... my brother however feels that it being on his drive has eroded some integral part of his petrolheaded credentials....

My Father in Law has strict instructions to kill me if I ever venture near a "People Carrier" of any kind. They are unnecessary to the 'nth degree and make the drivers look like overprotective consumerist dweebs.... IMHO of course! :p

Go for an old Volvo 1800ES, ver stylish, safe and plenty of room for you, the missus and the sprog, plus room for a pushcahir or summat at the back.

Very reliable, cheap insurance, no road tax if you buy an early enough one, will go on forever and you will feel happy about yourself. something you wouldn't in a Galaxy. :)

Depends how many kids you've bred though innit? :D

I do always feel a bit sorry for a man driving a people carrier though :(;)

They're still a mile better than Chelsea Tractors. In fact, if every Tractor owner who doesn't actually use for what it was designed for (so >95% of them all) were to switch to a people carrier, things would be a lot better for everyone.

ok. i'm now going to get a sensible ford mondeo estate after the good people of urban have spoken. practical and half the price without looking like a hunt.
