I'm going to Vegas

Right, another question (I knew I shoulda put this in the travel forum when I started it)

I've found flights via New York, however the layover is only 1 hr 55 min. Is that gonna be long enough to get through customs get my luggage onto the next flight etc? It doesn't seem like it will be. Probably I am worrying about nothing though.
That seems like plenty of time to me. I went to New York a few weeks ago and it only took about 15 or 20 mins to get thru customs - most of which was waiting in line - so I don't think you should have any probs.

Congrats on winning the trip and good luck - but you'll have a great time even if you bomb out of the tournament on the first day!

<where's the 'jealous' smiley?!>

that sounds amazing heinous seamus  i have changed planes with only that amount of stop off time a few times before, once in singaore and once in kula lumpa.....too easy.

do you have to collect your luggage at new york? usually ime, if you have booked both the main and connecting flight at the same time the airline should transfer all your luggage untill you reach you end destination.

you just have to carry your hand luggage.

but i'd get a second opionion since times have changed since i jetsetted all over ;)

Yeah I emailed the airline and they said the luggage will be going straight to Vegas, Thanks guys!

I wouldn't mind stopping off in New York for a few days actually as I've never been, but I don't really have the cash for it.

Cheers mate saves me the bother ;)
We should have an urban game, I can act like a bigshot until you all discover what a fish I am :D

Ooof, I leave tomorrow, not looking forward to the flight at all!
Getting free food and drink though which I am looking forward to :D

Cheers guys!
I'm shitting it just now, I can't imagine me winning a single hand :S
I should get to bed though, up early and that.

stay off the booze, be patient, when the cards come just play your usual game.

You've won already hs. When other people bust out around you, they'll probably be losing $10,000 each time. Go for it! :)

Cheers guys!

The blinds are very slow in the main event. Just wait for nut hands. Don't get complicated. Play yourself in.

Remember you aren't trying to do anything other than survive. Hang on as long as you can and someone will pay off your nuts and chip you in.

You either played yesterday or are playing today.

How's it going?

Try and pull Vicky Coren while you're out there :D

edit: PM me your name so I can follow you on pokernews.com !

Having trouble believing this.

You'd have to beat alot more people to qualify.

May have to look up the Betfair qualifying procedure later.

Nah, it sounds about right to me.

First tournament : 12 *$3.5 = $40 (if one seat)
Second Tournament : 33 * $40 = $1320 (lets say 3 seats at $400 each)
Final Qualifier : 63 * $400 = $25000 (two packages at a guess)

I'm just guessing the number of seats awarded in each tourney here, but it's certainly dooable. Just remember you have to win three in a row So you're not really competing against 12+33+63 but more like 12*(33/3)*63 people.

Sounds fine to me. All you have to do is generate $16,000 - which is well within the realms of a 3-stage multitable tourney.

Go and visit Red Rock Canyon - that'll be worth the trip!!! (I've never been but I really want to go)

Good luck with the poker!

Oh I see, thanks for explanation.

I played yesterday. Got about 26000 after the first day. I was upto about 35000 at one point. I was sooooo tight for the last two levels though, it was embarrassing. I just wanted to get through the first day though.

2002 champion robert varkonyi was at my table!

I got quad jacks as well. Checked it on the river and the guy bet 2500 :D folded to my reraise though.

Playing again on tuesday. Hotel is amazing. I gotta run cos this is exepnsive!

laters.
