Illegal blocking of Mobile phones in the classroom

We're not: kids today are no more fragile than we were. But we are learning that a lot of the fucked-up stuff we see in adults today has its roots in the way they were brought up as children. That's not to excuse anything, just to recognise how we might do it better.

Not that, going on the current showing, there's too much danger of that...
Like what? IMO we're throwing out the baby with the bath water. Every generation parents their children as a direct result of how they were parented. My mum did her best to avoid doing what her mum did to her and you know what? She STILL right royally fucked. me. up. I'm bringing my kids up and doing my best to avoid what my parents did to me. They'll STILL be fucked up in one way or another. You can't avoid unfairness, as cliched as it is Life is unfair. You have the choice to either make the best of what you've been given or have unrealistic expectations that someone is going to bail you out.

Why the fuck would kids ever need a mobile phone in a classroom? Maybe it's this kind of demand for fairness that has lead to schools needing to do things like install signal blockers in lieu of expecting any kind of fucking respect?

Oh agnes, you seem like a really nice person in all other respects and I don't mean this the way it's inevitably going to come out but I hope my kids don't have someone like you teaching them how things should be 'fair'. If people spent more time just fucking getting on with their lives and focussing on proper injustice (not whether some head master has played a trick on some schoolkids) the world might just be a slightly better place. I am sick of kids whining on about what's FAIR. Get your fucking head down and your ass up and get on with it ffs.
Hmm, I am clearly having rather more difficulty than I realised in getting my point across. That wasn't at all what I was getting at.

Oh well *shrug*

I'll read it again tomorrow - see what I've misunderstood :)

I shouldn't worry about it: I'm scratchy, stressed, and clearly misjudging stuff right, left and centre at the moment - too much other crap going on in my life at the moment, so it might be wise if I gave myself a couple of days' holiday from Urban before I end up really pissing someone else off...or myself, though that might already have happened..

*waves*

But surely, doing better means being better role models, instilling a better sense of discipline and consideration?

Just accommodating the little darlings doing what the hell they please, heck carry on and in another decade or so teachers will have even less authority and will be even more ineffectual and every school will be like Lord of the Flies!
