RingDing, I've just realised there might be a solution to your problems with your prospective in-laws: make out that you are stinking rich! Turn up in a prayer cap and a hired limo with chauffeur. The silly arses will be eating out of your hand before you can say, 'Salaam alaykum'.

*sniffs air*

Is that the scent of JHE malice?

At least if CAmeron wins there'll be no ID cards - thats a pretty big deal to me.

Why dont people vote LibDem? If you're going to vote for a maisntream party it might as well be them. What are the public so scared of? They run Scotland very nicely.

So much for your claim that I libelled you for calling you "rightwing", eh? :D
I'm looking forward to meeting Tory Pete at a forthcoming meet here in Yorks :)

I'll let you know if he's more Pops or Stelios ;) :D (all of which is very wrong of course. If a poster's u/n announced they were black we'd hardly be putting up pics of well known black artistes/businessmen/grotesques would we?)

correct me if I'm wrong but it's a lib-lab coalition and they don't completely 'run' scotland

this poll is actually irrelevant for these reasons
1) it's built on a hypothetical - people don't actually yet know how Brown would be as chancellor.
In October 1990, the tories were 12% behind in the polls. 1 month later, thatch was gone.
15 months after that, trhe tories won a GE.
2) Cameron has made no great policy commitments, made no substantial changes (as blair did within his first year. it's cos he can't because he knows the only way to get into power is to dump thatcherism, replace it with one-nation toryism - but doing that would split the tories down the middle.
come the GE, voters will want commitment.

You stop it and so will I.
How about you stop it right now and both of you learn to acquaint yourselves with the sheer unbridled joy of the 'ignore' function?

The're positioning themselves to the left of Labour seeking to adopt the middle ground. Hence the imminent rebellion amongst Tory members that'll sink Cokey Cameron.

Not if he gets 'em power. They will forgive him his apparent liberalism for that like Labour "leftwingers" were incredibly soft on Blair and still mostly are.

Of course - it is a measurably greater service to bring the torys left than to bring labour to the right. Shame they would be in government though.

We will either get Brown, an unknown quantity who isnt half what "left wingers" will want to think - or we will get Toryboy Dave surrounded by a lot of people who I suspect will be quite inept.

Basically, if the tories it wont be long before they are hated as Labour were.

How do you know that?

The Tories tried to bring ID cards in when Michael Howard was Home Secretary, Cameron's recent opposition (he supported ID cards under Howard's leadership) seems to be based on the cost issue, and not particularly on civil liberties, and he has not said that he is opposed to the National Identity Register, or the data sharing plans. There's a lot more to this than just the card itself.

Tory time!!!!!!!!!!!? Not for me, it's not.
