Ignorance

I must admit I don't know the answer. That means that on this question I am ignorant. But as to why I am ignorant I don't know. So that is something else I am ignorant about.

Ignorance being a lack or absence of something does not need a root. It just exists as a negative of knowledge.

You could have asked why some people are ignorant about certain specific things but even so it would lead to specific particular answers rather than a general one which seems to be suggested in the original question.

Perhaps a different question needs to be asked in order to clarify what is really wanted here.

That's because everything in life is a matter of perception. We all have our blind spots. If fact I'd argue that our blind spots are not spots at all but extremely large areas. Which is why it's good to explore all our points of view on a forum such as this

I may have over-reacted but FFS :(

Judging by your anger I'd say you've got more important things to do than pointing fingers and criticising others.

Hmmm don't quite see what you've said there - well thing is you can choose to be ignorant, and that in turn is sort of tied to sloth? Sloth is one of 7 sins hence you could argue sloth is the root of ignorance.

The more you know the less you realise you know. The more knowledge you accumulate the more you wonder just what you're gonna do with it.

And then it clicks: accumulating knowledge is our way of avoiding ignorance, but then at some point we realise that to arrive at the 'real' knowledge we need to go through it and out into ignorance, and to merge the two.

Then we shall no longer be ignorant, nor knowledgable. We will have found a higher dimension.

If this still don't make sense, then let us know mate, coz i'm thinking out rather aloud at the minute: i'm going through a period of readjusting a few of my thoughts, based on a recently increased ability to articulate to myself things. Maybe it's not coming across at the minute, but it will with the help of others!

I think you did mate! Each to their own eh?

Look, asking questions is a healthy practice, and you're not alone in having a go at noego for asking them.

What interests me is why asking questions, rather than just knowing or chucking out one's already formed opinions, seems to be so threatening.

Maybe you could go inside of yourself and ask why his questions annoy you. I mean this seriously, coz it's a fact that those who know lots see little. I don't mean you, but there's a link here which i'm interested in. Is it british?!

What's wrong with questions?!!

I like the way NoEgo doesnt frame his questions with an opinion.

Too many people here and elsewhere entrench themselves in an opinion for the sake of their ego. I've been guilty of it myself though I try to be better than that.
