If you were going to a festival, and it was probably going to rain...

Why are you so grumpy recently? :(

What's wrong with wellies and why will they ruin your feet? I've got some proper fucking boots and last year at BD it was a nightmare getting across the bit in front of the main stage.

I posted what I did 'cos I'm forever seeing people turning up to festivals with inadequate footwear, getting mugged by traders there when buying wellies which they will then leave behind. Probably repeat next year when the same thing will happen. They could just buy some decent boots and avoid the expense/hassle.

Wellies are crap for walking around in and lead to blisters which a decent pair of walking boots won't.

It wasn't aimed specifically at spangles, who I realise doesn't do many festivals etc, but it seemed the right place to make the same point again.

As for grumpiness, well I'm sorry if it comes across that way.

Fair enough... didn't look at it from that pov, just seemed like you were having a go at people who were taking wellies with them.

Mine fit well, are a decent make and find them fine to walk in without getting blisters (wear two pair of socks with wellies or boots). I've got a decent (actually 2) pairs of walking boots... but fancied taking the wellies this year :)

(because they match my dress (kidding))

I don't do that many festies these days, but I nearly got sucked under at BD in my walking boots... if I've got an extra 2 foot of footwear I've got more chance :)

(I know you're not really grumpy ;))

Tanky - walking in London is one of the hardest things you can do to your feet IME - much worse than any mountain.

I've been glad I took good boots more than once before.

Does she walk at all?

the only thing about my wellies is that they were very cheap and made for kids - so they may not hack it but as jittug observes: i'm not exactly a festival regular - i'll live.:)
