If you 'supported' (ok, followed) a team in another country, what would it be?

Looking into possibility of Osasuna.

Would be Real Zaragoza if they hadn't given me just about as bad a first impression as it's possible to have with the Samuel Eto'o incident occurring almost on my arrival in Spain.

Would be SD Huesca if their fans really gave a monkey's.

someone with an interesting kit....quite like Lyon as am wearing their fluro shorts now, same goes for Werder Bremen...not a great basis is it though never really go supporting more than one team as hypothetical as the OP was

supporting Far$a is like anyone from outside England supporting Man Utd or Liverpool. You can dress it up whichever way you want but at the end of the day you are a glory supporter.

Espanyol...

Also true of most supporters in Spain, for that matter. Is there a Spanish word for "gloryhunter"?

If I was going to follow an Italian team, I reckon it would be Napoli, cos any 'small' club which signs a world class Argentinian out of nowhere has to be on to good things, huh? :D :( ;) Plus zola came from there and while he's chelsea essentially, got to respect him as a player and doing a great job for us :)

Italian football supporting is a strange thing to me. Even down in the villages of Puglia, there are working mens club-type bars devoted to the top teams. It'd be like being in, say, Cornwall and finding a 'Man United' club, in the form of a British legion.

Of course I am, that's why I am a Watford fan!

There's a Peña Atlético Madrid in Huesca. Odd thing is, I've never ever seen so much as an Atlético shirt in town. Madrid and Barca, obviously, but not Atlético.

Some years back I was working in Italy. I was in Rimini and visited the market. Mainly in a vain attempt to buy a leather jacket (no black jackets, this year jackets is brown). However a cow orker bought a Juve shirt, so I thought I'd try to get an Ancona shirt as they were then in Serie A and the nearest top flight team. Not a chance. "We only sell shirts of reputable teams" I was told. Napoli, Lazio, Roma, no problem. Anything from closer to Rimini than Fiorentina, not a chance.

Hmmmmm now let me think..... :hmm::D

Oh yeah.... ASRoma

Going over in May for the last game of the season v Torino

Like several others have indicated, FC St Pauli, predominantly becasue of the left wing/anti-fascist stance taken by thier fans .... although when i started a thread on them here i was accused of being some sort of fashion victim. Fortunately i am too long in the tooth to be put off by that sort of thing.

I think I'd go for Sampdoria. They always seemed like provincial underdogs back in the 90s, had David Platt flying the English flag, and some lovable players like Lombardo, Jugovic, Montella, Ortega, Signori and Mihajlović. I also like their stadium, particularly the corners, and their distinctive kit;

I consider myself a supporter of Hajduk Split and have seen a fair few games over the years. Even owned a season ticket for a couple of years but it was only £30 and was more a case of the sentiment.

Also planning a trip to Rome soon to see the mighty Lazio as I have a couple of mates who are supporters.

I follow Juve. Due to two Italian friends. One of them came here to study and I was the first person he met here who was into football. He started following Crystal Palace and I started following his team, Juve. This was in the 1990s when Channel 4 showed live Italian games every sunday. He even maintained his support after I took him to see palace lose to Arsenal 3-1.

I think i got a better deal as Juve have won 7 league titles and 3 Champions league since and Palace have just been relegated and promoted acouple of times!

You can still watch Serie A games live for free on ladbrokes dot com.

Thank you for that. And may yours as well :)

Nope, not mates with them although I quite like what they do.

One of those Holmesdale clowns is usually rimming summat Laziale on a football site I go on..... They go on about their trips to see Lazio.
