If Cardiff won the Cup this year...

A one legged gypsy* with a parrot told me down the pub that we were going to win and he sold me some lucky magic beer mats to garrentee it. We are a dead cert to win!

* Although he might have been a pirate actually.

I didn't know that,i'm putting my bet on cardiff for the cup now then.

i'll tell you why dai, a few years ago the foxes got to the quarters and we got wycombe, i was so exited about getting to the semi finals of the cup and we only went and lost 2-1 to wycombe at home i was so dissapointed and in disbelief. that's why.

What a lovely story.

No disaster if we don't win the quarters. We need to concentrate on the league anyways. But what if?

A lot of us just want to get to Wembley for the semis tbh.

You Cardiff lot are getting ahead of yourselves don't you think? 3 games to go before you win it if you do.

see how he never cautioned me not to get carried away :D

Given that we've not been this close for 50 years and Cardiff have waited 81 years to reach this stage again, I think we're all entitled to get as carried away as we please over the next week and a half.

And hopefully for another month after that as well :D

As far as the Europe thing is concerned, I'm sure we can be persuaded to 'represent' Cardiff in some way over there. We'll let you support us on the telly like :)

Is it not the case that Total Network Solutions took over Llansantffraid FC, a club who have now merged with Oswestry Town and changed their name to The New Saints purely so they can keep their previous corporate inspired initials?

Madness I tells ee.

And the FAW allowed Inter Cardiff to be taken over by another company. And were renamed at first Inter Cable Tel....The Devils Children.

FA have confirmed that Cardiff won't be going to Europe even if they win the cup

Only just seen this and it does seem bizzare. Can anyone tell me why Cardiff are affiliated to FAW and not the FA? Can they change affiliations?

And if, as someone mentioned above, Cardiff took the FA to court to force the FA to allow them to play in Europe, couldn't the FA just turn round and kick them out of English football?

Cardiff are affiliated to the FAW because Cardiff is in Wales :p

I'd imagine UEFA would have a fit if Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham, Merthyr Tydfil, Newport County or Colwyn Bay tried to affiliate to the FA rather than the FAW. The present situation is unsatisfactory enough from their pov.

I've been reading around it and apparently something similar has already happened - Swansea finished sixth in the old First Division in 1981 (or 82, summat like that), a UEFA Cup qualifying slot. The FA refused to nominate Swansea for the competition and put forward seventh placed Southampton instead.

Swansea won the Welsh Cup that year and qualified for the Cup Winners' Cup instead,

Being a real football fan is all about getting carried away and dreaming of improbable victories

Exactly. That's why the fans of the BIG clubs are losers and Not Real Football Fans.

The cod-fans, if you will.

FA have confirmed that Cardiff won't be going to Europe even if they win the cup

Man United play Chelsea - UEFA Cup slot goes to the Premier League
Manchelsea United beat Cardiff - UEFA cup slot goes to the Premier League
Manchelsea United beat AN Other - UEFA Cup slot goes to runner up in Cup
Cardiff beat AN Other - do the runners up go into Europe or does it revert to the Premier League?

The cod-fans, if you will.

I'm 100% certain that Cardiff will win the FA Cup this year. I've never been more certain of anything in my short life. :hmm::cool:

That's strange, I think the same about us.

One of us is getting carried away

But which one? :hmm:

Sorry to disappoint you but that's impossible because you'd have to get past Sheff Utd who get to the semi final every 5 years - this year is five years since we last got to the semis...

Id be happy with a Cardiff v Bristol final.
Cardiff win but Bristol get the European place because the FA are selfish cunts jealously guarding English interests but more than happy to take their dirty cut of welsh fans money.

Would you prefer to play in the Welsh league?!

They always seem to knock us out of the cup too.

Sean Bean must be rubbing his hands together at the prospect.

Mr Bean...Heh-he. I've only just realised that.
