Ideas for tasty, unusual outdoor veg to be planting now?

I'm pretty sure my mum has growed chickpeas in the past.

Once i get the peas and squashes out of their pots and into the ground, i'll have spare pots. I can then do some experimental stuff

Yeh I deffo wanna grow one of those fractal cauliflower thingys (in Herbsman pic), just for the look if nothing else

there some cool blue climbing beans 'Blauhilde' and also the lovely looking hyacinth bean http://www.pfaf.org/database/plants.php?Lablab+purpureus NB it is poisonous till cooked so maybe no got around kids!!
