Well, if you are only allowed to get someone to sign it who is a doctor, teacher, lawyer or whatever, and the only people you know are quite unlikely to fill in any of those categories.

I think it's a damned stupid rule.

What - people on council estates never went to school, and neither did their kids? :D Anyway, these days there'll be quite a few teachers, qualified nurses, policemen and so on living on council estates.

The criteria are wider than they seem at first. Pub landlords are eligible to sign, for a start.

AAARRGGHH

We finally tracked down his v. old Lloyds ac by going through every address that we have had in the past 10 years, only to be told that they closed it last month as there had been no activity in 3 years. However, as it was slightly overdrawn when he abandoned it (a couple of pounds) it is now substantially overdrawn (hundreds of pounds) due to charges and has been passed to baliffs. Who now know his current address..fucking hell - and we *still* havent got the bloody thing cashed.
