Ian Gibson leaving Parliament now

map can be found here http://www.election-maps.co.uk/index.jsp just make sure to search for norfolk otherwise it won't let you look at the wards that are outside the city council area.

also, there's one ward in each constituency that's only partly in the city, in north this benefits the tories and in the south it helps the libdems, I included both of them in my working, as it doesnt affect the placings, just the overall percentages

The boundaries will change for the general election, but this by-election will be fought on the current boundaries, not the new ones.

yeah, i realised that after having done the mathsy shit, but doing a notional result by the old boundaries would be a nightmare. of course I'm 200 miles away from Norwich so anyone who has a look at the borders and the results and wants to take a guess is welcome:)

edit: anyway here's my working, wards with asterisks are the ones outside the city which are partlyinside the constituencies. on the old boundaries, part of Crome is in South and part of Thorpe Hamlet is in North, also, the old North contains Taverham and half of Drayton and Horsford, both of which wet to the tories with LD in 2nd and greens in 3rd

extra edit, bugger, labour result in mile cross should be 614
