I have been too wimpy to look at this thread and now I've plucked up the courage I see he is on the mend. Yay :D

Minnie that picture has put me off my tea :(

I hope I get a thread like this next time I moan about knocking on a bit and feeling a bit under the weather!

......actually come to think of it my mum sounds weak and lifeless when her arthritis is really troubling her...pain wears you out....a few people I know with arthritis feel it worse with changes in barometric pressure......

We love you Mrs. M. :D

Getting his teeth sorted could make LOADS of difference. Everyone thought my mum and dad's dog was on the way out, even the vet!! Until they took him to see a different one who took out a good load of teeth that should have been done years ago apparantly and he's SOOOO much happier and livelier now

ETA He's a poodle actually. A toy one, blue (grey really, but they call it blue apparantly). He doesn't get cut like a poodle though

cool metacam is the good one.

the two main ones they prescribe are rimadyl and metacam. of the two metacam is better.

once the "stiffness" etc backs off then lower his dose gradually to about 1/2 of the loading dose but take it back up if they havea bad day. we sometimes find that using the full dose all the time causes stomach irritation.
