I think I might be addicted to making things hot.

after my firestarter pizza that had no fire, i'm considering taking chilli flakes out with me in my bag for these kind of occasions.

maybe not first dates though.

bit like dobby and cheese.

I just asked the pizza place for the hottest pizza they do

Come and get me, muthafuckas!

Our local take-out pizza place is pretty good-- for the size of the town it's in, it's quite cosmopolitan in terms of the options they offer. But they don't know shit about hot. If you ask for chillies what you get (and this is pretty much universal in sandwich bars and pizza places in my part of North America) is pickled banana peppers with that lateral pinking-shears cut. It takes handfulls of the stuff to make anything spicy and they make the pizza, burger or sandwich all vinegar-y from the brine they've been in for God knows how long.

What we do is order the pizza with the toppings we like and when we get it home we sprinkle it with sambal oelek and give it a dusting of grated romano or parmesan. Under the broiler for a couple of minutes and it comes out more or less like the spicy pizza I would have made myself if I could have been arsed.

i want to have a korma tonight for tea in front of x factor but can i have a HOT korma?

i love korma but it would be ace if it was spicy. can i just chuck chilli flakes on it?

point of a korma is the mild almondy mix, isn't it?

so no

just make a thai curry (see? you need to stock up!) and make it as hot as you fucking like

i've never made a curry.:o

thing i love about korma though is, it's like 22 weightwatcher points, when you're allowance is 18 or something.

so theoretically even if i ate nothing else today, i still would have to throw up a bit afterwards to make it acceptable.

I have a korma recipe that has quite a kick to it, but no chilli in there (I don't think).

I was nearly killed by a rogue chilli falling into some Sag Aloo so I'm not sure whether my definition of 'spicy' is the same as yours.

I'm pretty sure the home made ones are loads less fattening than your average take away ones -- and you get to monitor exactly what you're putting in your food.

time you did then, eh? if you're going to launch a full-on addiction, cooking skills must be employed. anyway, thai curry is the easiest curry to make, evah.

buy good paste, warm as much as you like in a bit of oil, chuck in tin of coconut milk and veg/chicken/prawns/whatever, lime leaves - simmer.

trust me on this - thai curry is one of the peaks of chilli addiction  i know I've made a good one when the first mouthful makes me cough :D

well that's another point to thai curries - barely any oil used, and although its coconut milk, you can buy half fat, I believe

i think i will start doing this. i need to start cooking more anyway. and it would be good to get me veggie intake up.

I love hot food!
Been guilty of adding chili sauce to cheap Alfredo noodle packets until the guests complain...
Bought some Dave's Insanity Sauce from a place in New Orleans a while back. No idea what the heat index is on that one, but it will give you blisters if used as a dipping sauce...
Experimented as to how hot you can make things with it for a while and it makes me agree with the "too hot ruins the flavor" camp.
Just made Sinagang soup, one large banana pepper for flavor and three Thai Dragons chopped in half...perfect;)

There's a whole range of Dave's Insanity sauces, ranging from damn hot to completely nuts. On the top end, Dave's Gourmet Insanity Jolokia Private Reserve 2008 comes in at a blazing 500,000+ SHUs. I can't imagine what I'd use it for.
