I talked to somebody in supermarket and feel kinda crap about it?

Oh God. I'm surprised they haven't been sued!

Dog needed some anti flea treatment from the vets a while back. I dunno which they recommended. He's fine though.

That stuff seems to be deadly to cats. :(

My cat and dog both use Frontline from the vets. No problems there.

I'm quite a shy person, I rarely make conversation with strangers although I was brought up by a fantastic grandmother who could start a conversation with anyone, she would always chat to people at a bus stop. She's from the war generation and has inpressed me with her solidarity towards others and her amazing charisma. I'd love to be the same way and could be so but it seems to be regarded as strange nowadays. I'm posting this because I butted in on a conversation between a lady, probably around 28, and a shop assistant because she couldn't find no "wine stuff for chinese meals" (probably for an olympics party from what I could tell) but when I explained she needed rice wine and could use dry white sherry I got the distinct impression that the lady in question thought I was either a nutter or trying to pull. Kind of ignored me with a smile.

Oh dear whats wrong with the world? We wouldn't think twice about offering advice on the boards?

It's not OK to butt in unless you say something like 'excuse me, I couldn't help overhearing you' - don't just launch in with a stream of talk - it can be overwhelming

Maybe what LTC said, but don't worry about it and don't stop butting in! One day you might even get a conversation out of it!:D

Sorry, I should revise 'it's not OK' - it's perfectly OK - it's just that you might throw someone by doing it

Oh God. I'm surprised they haven't been sued!

They've had plenty of claims made against them, because I've dealt with some. Their defence is always that the cat or dog must have been allergic to one of the ingredients, and that isn't their fault.
