I was sticking a small piece, that had previously been chipped off, back on. I got superglue on both it and me so I stuck to it. .

I prised it off using the back of a spoon to pull up the skin, then rubbing acetone in to soften the glue. It took about half an hour.

The most difficult part was supporting the weight because that makes it uncomfortable as it pulls.

I've been there, done that. If youre not glued to anything it'll come off in a few hours, maybe a day.

Now, if you're stuck to something (I got stuck to the stock of a gun) that's very different.

I have two huge dollops of superglue on my neck, holding a surgical wound together. I'm not putting acetone on them so they may be there for a while

Your skin peeled off after a few days?

Yes. Had to grow everything again from scratch

The acetone softens the superglue enough so that it peels off without ripping the skin
