I need friends! I am so bored...

Lauge welcome. Small friendly pub opposite Mosque - The Indo, Whitechapel. Quite near is the Rhythm Factory - good for music.

plus, he gave his yorkshire pudding to maggot - the act of a gentleman:cool:

I read about yorkshire pudding before, but I never realized it was just burned bread. Doesn't that give you cancer or something?

Joke aside, thx for all the info. you people have truly shown me great hospitality!

Yorkshire pudding's not burned bread!

It's batter (like pancakes/crepes) baked in a tin in an oven so that it rises and goes all fluffy with a crispy shell. Almost like a savoury meringue. It goes with roast meat and gravy.

It's not supposed to be burned bread. You clearly got a bad one. I'm sure maggot isn't complaining though.

Crispy and bluestreak: defending attacks on yorkshire puds with rapidy pedantry force!

I thought the yorkshires looked overdone and burnt. Passing it on was hardly the gentlemanly act Lauge has been praised for. Bestowing such handouts are surely the act of a cad? :hmm:

Maggot didn't have to accept it. If it was that bad he'd have thrown it back in lauge's face, saying "bestow not such failed puddings, you utter bounder". And then they'd have wrestled.

I moved to London a week ago, and after some time reading comic books,
walking around in London and surfing the internet. . . .

Holy shit you have only been in London a week and already you have overtaken me socially. I got fed up of walking around years ago, all I have now are comics and internets.

Anyway pass us a jaffa cake and that fiver that you won't need to not lend to Dub.

It was a bit over-cooked, but still tasted lovely!

Thanks Luage.

i was quite jealous as i hadn't ordered a sunday lunch, maggot actually swooped on the pudding, like a south london bird of prey -

It's good fun if you really like proper indie and old 60s girl group stuff. It's an institution if you like that sort of thing, but if you don't it's a bit of a non-starter. (not a criticism, it's a night that knows its niche and does it well)

That's true of any night though, surely? I'm sure Bangface is brilliant, but if you don't like the music it's a non-starter too.

Offline is the best bet, though. Something there for everyone!
