the military look she is talking about - all frogging, eppaulettes (sp?) belted coats - that may very well be over. but army surplus stuff is a perrenial.

edited to remove the unneccesary rude word :o

There was really no need, rude words are never unnecessary.

how could a rude word have been justified in such a nice peaceful thread?

I shall find out what he said and report back, and if it's really rude he'll be in very very big trouble

yet again, I apologise for my husband :(

Wow squelch! I'm seriously tempted by this I think I'm gonna have to ring them up on Monday to check about the size. (they've only got one size) But it's a great site and I love everything about that Grenfell fabric (it's right up my street)
...not sure about the name of that last place tho' :D

Were you a stylist in a previous life or something? How come you don't by clothes now?

I'd be lying if I said I definatively was but I've assisted, in some form, most of the ones that most people have heard of and been in luuuuuuuurve with a lot of those that people haven't.;)

Also I spent a greater part of the eighties freelancing as a photographer for 3 specific magazines in Paris, Tokyo and LA whose whole premise was observation of British style for which I had to come up with my own monthly stories and in doing so got to visit lots of shops, fashion houses and designers...in between working as an assistant to other fashion, interior and portrait photographers..again alot of these were very influential of trends and styling and so I had to know what wuz wot etc. to work with'em.:)

Currently not in love and a dole scrounger.:(

well I've found out what the swear word was, it was....

bollocks.

I think it was unwarranted and shall kick him in the aforementioned bollocks and that will be a lesson to him.

Aaah, poor milesy, I think I goaded him.

If you would feel better giving him a swift kick then don't let me stand in your way.:D

Mind you, that Smurf-blue helmet-hooded number I bought at Glastonbury was a mistake. Never buy knitwear on drugs – that's my advice :(

I like the sound of that.:)

Pointy hoods are cool

avoid anything military, it's over.

Excellent I can start wearing it now then :)

I quite liked the sound of Skim's pixie style top too :o

Have a look here if you like Aurora. I get some of my clothes there and I think we may have some similar tastes.
There's a Keela jacket similar to the one you linked to.

Sounds like you had a really cool time back then then... but life's full of ups and downs eh? Just gotta ride with it.
I always think it's funny how when I was young, I naturally assumed that things would just keep getting better and better, and it's quite scary now to look back and think, that might well of been 'the time of my life'....

Anyways, I'm sad to report that the Grenfell jacket wont fit me, :(
so the search continues, but thanks for all the suggestions everyone.

I remember the Smurf hoodie, Skim - I met it at the Glasto you bought it at. Happily, I think you were berating it at the time so you can't have been suckered for long :D
