I need a new series to download...

I've only seen bits of Buffy and it just seemed to me to be Hollyoaks/Dawson's Creek with vampires, so have always avoided it

I'm just watching Surface which is abit cheesy but I'm enjoying it - if you liked the film Abyss you might like Surface.

I've also got Bionic Woman - just becuase I wanted to see how Michelle Ryan was in it.

Jericho is on my list to watch next.

I've also got The Fixer on my list and Five Days.

I do watch some right tosh though. :o

I'm a Buffy/Angel geek of the highest order (we finished a 7 season run of Buffy about 2 months ago), and have seen Reaper to the end of the first season...it improved greatly after the first 7 eps I have to say...

You should definitely check out - HBOs new vampire series set in a steamy Louisiana backwater. Plenty of violence, profanity, kinky sex and...yes, vampires (although the vampires are portrayed in this series as a persecuted minority)!

They've only screened a couple of episodes so far in the States, but it looks quite promising.

Couple of sitcoms worth a look, too -

The shield, its not the wire, its different, I like both.
Also a bit lighter 'Rescue Me' (NY firemen. written by and starring Dennis Leary, some good characters)...really enjoying this at the moment.

Dead Like Me is a good one, too. It's more episodic in nature than many of these shows, so it doesn't matter so much when it ends suddenly.

Anything more to say? I gather you think it's more than that?
Please enlighten me - I'm probably wrong as I haven't really seen it, but I can be forgiven for thinking that from what I've seen of it, surely?

It's not much like Dawson's Creek at all, and definitely not like Hollyoaks - the acting's good, for a start! Though it does change over the seasons, getting more grown-up as the characters grow up. I really would recommend giving the show another try.

I used to be a big Buffy and Angel fan, but TV just isn't what it used to be back in the late 90's and early 00's.

Having said that :D 24 is amazing, Supernatural which i've been watching is great (watched 2 seasons in about 3 weeks so it must be good) and Im sure there's others.

I used to watch Spooks but I've not seen it in years. Stargate SG1 was alright but when it was shown on Channel 4 i kept missing episodes and such like. Smallville is also good but i've not seen any new seasons of it.

Season 8 of Smallville just started and finally Clark Kent goes to Metropolis to become a reporter.

So we might by the end of season 8 actually get to see Superman.

Can I just say I am a bit gutted about this thread, I was hoping I could pick up some tips for something to watch, and I have watched every program listed that I was ever going to watch....lets face it, I was never going to watch Desperate Housewives, but all the others.

All but one, 24. And people have been bugging me for ages that I should watch it.

I suppose I should go get it then.

Oh I thought of another one.

Burn Notice.

Did I say that already?

If not, damn that is a good program, light hearted but kewl too.

Smallville lost me years ago. When I occasionally catch bits of it on E4, it looks like every fucker is channelling a witch or has a magick power.

Is there really enough in it to sustain an adult's atention?

Kristin Kreuk's wide eyed, slow and deliberate delivery ... Ugh!

You lie, it has hawtness and vampires and it's made by those gods of series making HBO

this one has win written all over it. I'll report back on why you are wrong in more detail once the eps have downloaded

I'll be expecting a critical analysis of how their featured dark, brooding vampire is different to Angel, the dark brooding vampire.

Double spaced.

I started downloading the Wire, it's a huge torrent as it is all of the series so far!!!

I hope that I won't be disappointed :hmm: :hmm:

Another new one.

Sons of Anarchy.

Has Ron Perlman in it and Dutch from teh Shield has just joined the cast.

Pretty good, biker criminals in a small town its just started and its good a bit of humour and a bit of darkness to it and the actors so far have been excellent.

Oh it also has Mom from Married with Children in it....took me bloody ages to work out where I had seen her before too.

To be fair watched another episode of of True Blood.

It has some redeeming features, perhaps it will get better as the series goes forward.

For jokes- you should try Benidorm series 1 and 2.

I didnt catch it while it was on- but watched the dvds. Its properly funny! Really keenly observed! :D

I *love* the posh, uptight couple! And the Uncle Monty-esque swingers!

The evil bitch of a grandma on the mobility scooter is just jokes!
