I wasn't suggesting that I was. But I'm almost certainly no less productive and I'm definitely several hundred pounds better off and have far better options for repairs and upgrades, not to mention software.
I've only had two mac fail with me in nigh on 15 years, and one was an easily replaced standard HD. Aside from the motherboard there's little that someone couldn't do with a little dexterity and research.
Compiz is cute. Mind you, that boingy rubber window thing is cute for about five seconds and then gets on your nerves. In terms of the Exposé-type effects and app and screen switching that you can do though, it's certainly up to or exceeding OS X standards. In fact if you really want to pimp your desktop it's better.
Cheaper, faster and quieter than anything comparable from the PC world when I bought it. Cheaper than a Dell or an Alienware and better cased and constructed than anyone I know could do. Yeah it cost a few quid, but I'm a graphics geek, I don't drive or have a mortgage so it was worth it.
