I LOVE Pot Noodles - Is This Wrong?

I've had occasional yearnings for the beef and tomato ones ever since I tried one that came as a free sample in a student welcome pack decades ago. I wasn't converted by the free sample of peanut butter though. Bleurgh.

My favourites are those extra-large Bombay Bad Boy ones. The problem is that they're ruinously expensive.

I've discovered that it's much cheaper to bulk-buy a bunch of Korean spicy ready noodle pots from an east Asian supermarket online. The mouth of the pot is wider too, which means that I can fit in the 4 hard-boiled eggs that I usually have with it.

They were better when they had more chemicals in them

Everything has chemicals in it.

Yeah I know :p

What I mean, which I think you know really, is that they had a much bigger flavour punch when they have more salt, MSG and god knows what else in them. Obvs some of that stuff had to be taken out for health reasons but I don't think anyone eating a Pot Noodle cares about how healthy it is.

I've just had an Aldi 'Asian Inspired thai sweet chilli egg noodle' thing, which is in the same vein as a pot noddle, however the actual product was so far below the 'fill line' that it would have been a watery mess if I had filled to the fill line, which upon reflection, I actually hardly ever fill any of these type of things to the fill line, but just above where the product actually gets too. Much nicer, and don't end up with water dripping down my beard. Instead a nice thick sauce and manage to get right to the bottom of the pot without it being a paddling pool.
