I hope Adebayor doesn't get banned for that celebration

It just made me laugh that's all, more the "utter swine" bit than anything. I wonder what Frankie Boyle would have to say about it!

I'd say that'll be a ban then, 4 maybe? 2 for each incident.

It's hard to see what his defence will be, mind it was hard to see what Eduardo's defence was going be.

He's looking at 6 games i think... that could be it for City's season given that the rest of their strike force are crocked.

Ludicrous.

The top 4 will be the top 4. Again.

Amazing given the amount of strikers they've brought recently.

I wonder how the FA will approach the improper conduct charge given that the ref already dealt with it on the pitch? Are we not always being told that if the ref sees it and deals with it then no further action will be taken unless new evidence comes to light?

hundreds of utter swine.

who were held back by one old gimmer in a cap until one of the twats threw something at him

anyway PL have asked the police to press charges against said swine who will then be subject to a banning order

Don't worry, we still have Benjani on the books ...somewhere. No kids coming through in attack so we'll have a 4-2-3-1

with Barry and de Jong wiping up, SWP, Ireland and Petrov or Weiss going crazy and Bellamy up front to annoy people

Perhaps if he had taunted them if he scored in front of them he could be forgiven for a rush of blood to the head, running the full length of the pitch to do it is just unacceptable for a so called 'professional'. Should have had a red card there and then.

If the fans had been giving him racist abuse, that is also unacceptable, but two wrongs don't make a right. He is supposed to set an example, not incite trouble. Totally irresponsible, this combined with the stamping deserves a ban.... he wont get one though.

i hope he gets the celebration charge dropped as it is a fucking joke, but he should be hammered for the stamp

Potentially starting a riot .. deliberately... a joke?

Would you be saying the same if there had been a massive pitch invasion? :hmm:

supporters are quick enough to give abuse to players, i did it often enough myself when i used to go, so they should learn to take it when it is given back, if those wankers had seriously wanted to invade the pitch then a few stewards and coppers would not have been able to stop them, and yes, i would still not have condemned addabayor if some of them had of actually had the balls to invade the pitch

That is not the point really is it, no matter the rights and wrongs of the supporters behaviour, what this clown did had the potential to cause serious disorder, it was reckless, childish, irresponsible and pathetic. This could have turned into another west ham millwall thing very easily.

It is not a case of having the balls to invade the pitch, it is a case of having the brains and the good sense to stay off the pitch.

Professional my arse, the man is a Muppet.

Adebayor reflects the moral depths football has sunk to the last few years.
He was a nobody before Arsenal signed him, and through the support of Wenger, his staff, his teammates and the fans he went from a talented but erratic player into an international star. Then after one good season, he started courting Milan and Barcelona, and became lazy on the pitch, thus betraying the club and the fans who paid his wages.

Fucking hell. Learn something about the game. He was a very, very talented player well before Wenger signed him. Was being monitored by every big club in Europe. Arsenal just offered him the best terms.

A 'nobody'!

most of the arsenal fans had the good sense not to get wound up by what in reality was a big nothing, of the minority of dickheads who did get wound up, non of them had the balls to do anything more than the usual embarrasing posturing, sorry, but i think you are making a mountain out of a molehill

just because you hadn't heard of him doesn't make him a nobody

Arsenal letting him leave still defies belief... Particularly to a club who will most likely be challenging them for 4th place and a champs league position.

Wenger is utterly nuts. He's let Vieira, Henry and now Adebayor leave because of personal differences. The guy could learn a bit from the way Fergie kept that little bastard Ronaldo despite clearly despising everything about him.

To be fair who the fuck are monoco.

Hardly ever play in europe, never ever reach the champions league final(with adebayer for playing them)

and no decent manager has ever come from there, especially ones with a packed of sweets and cheeky wee smile.

He was nothing, NOTHING.

I would imagine most of the Arsenal fans were not wound up, just as most of them were probably not being racist, but his actions, running the whole length of the pitch, were intended clearly and unambiguously to wind them up as much as he could. The fact that most people did not bite was not a given, it could easily have gone wrong.

He could have celebrated in front of his own fans, shared in the joy of scoring a goal for them, that would not have been hard, he was right in front of them, but no, he was not interested in joy, he wanted to rub someones nose in it. The act of a spoilt and spiteful child.

can't argue about him coming across as spoilt and spiteful, but i just don't see anything wrong with a player who has been taking abuse rubbing it in when he scores

Neither can I, normally I'd say it's par for the course.

But there is a backstory. And the winding up goes both ways.

I'm sure you've not been following Ade's interviews (ever), but just about everyone he's done since joining Man City slagged off the Arsenal fans. Shit about being boo'd, not being loved (ect ect). No Ade, of course you moved because you we're unloved and not for the 150 grade PER WEEK(!) doubling his wages at Arsenal, which in turn were doubled after he and his agent hauled his sorry carcass round Europe looking for a big money move. Plus, his assurtion that if Arsenal lost agaisnt Celtic, Fab would leave. Now that is enough to wind me up, let alone the reams of interviews were he diss'd the Arsenal support. The mans a fucking cunt. End of.

I thought his celebration was excellent. He put it right up those Arsenal fans. Good on him. It's the fans fault any stewards were injured. They should have copped it sweet.
