I have an important interview!!!

good luck szc, cool job :D

be yourself, really sell the points that you know you're good at, don't be afraid to big yourself up a bit. as someone that has interviewed a lot of people in the last year, your attidude and confidence in the interview will play a huge part. if asked for examples of experience or skill, if you don't have them in your professional life, you may well have them in your personal/educational life, tell them about it, it's all valuable stuff.

smile and be confident :)

Aim to arrive 15 mins before the interview time... before is weirdly early - 15 mins gives you time to chill and read any company literature available. Take an umbrella (plain if possible).

Not early enough IMO. You can lose 15 mins very easily travelling in London, and if you're late for an interview you've basically fucked it.

Well the agency liked me, the interviewer woman said I was clearly bright and that she would put me forward for the job.... :)

I have another interview at 3pm and a second interview tomorrow.

Hey that's great... got my fingers crossed for ya hon.

Well I completely forgot to mention that I have a small range of corporate attire (mainly separate dress jackets & skirts) but also a tailored trouser suit). I bought the latter for an interview... & as a result landed my current job. :) Seeing we're about the same size, feel free to borrow anything that takes your fancy. I'll did em out after I get home tonight...

So, how did it go?

The other interview I had yesterday went quite well. The woman agreed with a lot of what I said and I sailed through those interview questions ;)

We got on quite well actually.

I have a second interview later today (pharmacy assistant), we'll see how that goes.

I called my ex-manager today to find out if my cheque was any closer to getting to a post box and she said she'd sort it out.....she then asked me: "Have you found a job yet?" I said no and she replied with "Are you looking?"

I felt like saying: "Nah, I thought I'd just spend the last of my dough, wait to be kicked out, remain jobless, forget about eating...you know, the usual"

 :D

I knew you'd be the Ellen Macarthur of interview technique. Well done and fingers crossed. :)

Ok so the second interview went really well, they pretty much offered me the job there and then.

The problem is, I'm not sure I want it. For several reasons:

1) They want commited, long term staff and they want them trained up to at least NVQ level 2 (which they will pay for)
2) I got a weird vibe from the place. I know it doesn't mean much but I always trust my instinct
3) They pay £5.50 p.h. :(

They want to know by the end of the week if I accept their offer and I don't really know what to do cos I won't be hearing back from other interviews I've done til next week and I don't know whether I can afford to refuse any job offer right now.......

Should I just accept it and deal with it or should I stick around for something better and that pays more?

accept it and keep looking

its easier to get a job when you are already in work

though it could look a bit ropey if you start "job hopping"

I feel a bit weird about accepting the job and then maybe leaving a few weeks/a month later.....I guess I'm just not used to the world of work and it's ways!

It would make sense to get work asap and earn money....But all that training in the first week or so will be for nothing....then again, I might like it there...

Oh I dunno!

tbh when you've had a few jobs and been treated like crap in most of them, you stop worrying about whether you're going to piss off the employer by leaving quickly or whatever. It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, so you gotta learn to be a bitch :p

having said that, it depends how much you need the money. if you can hold out a few more weeks without, then there's no point in accepting a job you are fairly sure will be shit. if you do need money immediately though then I'd say take the job and keep on looking.

Couldn't you ask them for a bit more time, and say you have another interview which may result in a better paid job? ;)

Nah, could you heck!!! Even though you'd be telling the truth, I'm sure they wouldn't like to hear it...
