I Hate Wimbledon Thread

Anyway, back to topic. Yes tennis and Wimbledon are shite and very over-exposed. Why can't they just show a once a week highlights package like we get with the Premiership, something not even Cliff could say was less important? Tennis is hugely dull and we're shite at it. Neighbours on the other hand is ace and needs to be on. They could scrap Wimbledon and show the Tour De France instead which is the world's biggest annual sporting event. Cycling is also a sport we're half way decent at, having won medals a plenty last summer in Athens and Bradley Wiggins making his Tour debut this year. It's another horrible sporting event, like Ascot and cricket (*prepares for flaming*) where a lot of spectators seem to go to socialise and/or get pissed rather than actually watch the sport.

Now you stepping wit a G, from Los Angeles
Where helicopters got cameras,
just to get a glimpse of our Chucks
And our Khakis and our bouncer cars
You wit you friend right? (yeah)
She ain't trying to bring over no men right? (no)
Shiieet, she ain't gotta be in the distance
She could get high all in an instant

Mami, mamasita, have you ever - flown on G5s
From London - to Ibiza? You gotta have cake
You'll have Sunday's with chiquitas
You'll see Venus and Serena, in the Wimbledon Arena
And I can take you

Fucking Tennis again. Why can't they televise it on ITV or some shite Digital channel so that nothing worth watching is lost? Instead for a fortnight it'll be fucking inescapable. Let's hope Henman departs early this year; then at least we'll be safe from all the perennial screamers of 'come on Tim.'

It's fair comment, not everyone's into tennis. I happen to enjoy Wimbledon but I can understand lots of people would rather not have it all over the BBC for two weeks.

But then people like me have to put up with interminable cricket and golf on the telly.

Why can't the BBC swap Wimbledon for live coverage of the Premiership with Sky? They'd be doing us all a favour.

I got hold of the TV listings for Monday today and for several hours in the afternoon they have tennis on BBC1 and BBC2. Surely this is an abuse of the TV license? You can only watch one match at a time and you're denying broadcast time to millions of sane people.
