I hate clothes shopping!

See I don't even have huge bosoms (34D) and a size 14 can gape at the front on a shirt or blouse. Anyone with any kind of cleavage or curvage doesn't exist according to the fashion industry.

Bravissimo makes tops and dresses with extra bust allowances, if that's any help.

I have that same problem (DD/E) so I rarely buy blouses. It's not that they are even too small, it seems to be the positioning of the buttons.

Having said that I do have a couple of M&S blouses and they are a perfect fit.

Hate it too...

Can do it for me pretty easily but girls clothes shopping should be a solo event while I sit in the pub reading a book :)

I do most of mine online too - Dottie P's, LaRedoute (who do some of their basics in 3 different body shapes), M&S and, because i'm a fattie, Evans and Simply Be.

I find it much more convenient -you can try things on with different shoes, tops etc, you're under less pressure.....

Oh, and for those talking about button thru blouses/shirts - yep, an impossibility if you've got boobs of any size. I've given up with those.

We went to Aberdeen(50miles north) yesterday for me to try to buy something. All I want is decent stuff to wear on the motorbike. 6(out of 7)of the ladies leathers were crap colours. Do I look like I want a jacket that isn't BLACK???
So I tried on some of the blokes jackets, couple of ok ones but not in my size, so now I have to go to Edinburgh(70 miles south).

There were no boots my size either. And one helmet that was ok so I'm thinking about that, but the other helmet I like is only stocked in Elgin afaik, Elgin is about 100 miles north

I can empathise moomoo.

I hate clothes shopping too. I go out feeling alright, come back feeling miserable and gross.
The mirrors in changing rooms are horrible too.
I wait for hand me downs (have a lot of friends who buy clothes then dont wear them and chuck them at me which is handy)
I am a strange shape too.I always liken myself to..those games where you have to match bits of bodies together to make one. I think I look as if I was made up of different folks' bodies. It is hard to find clothes that fit me.
I absolutely hate shopping with other people aswell. Alone I can just about cope. Others there and I get flustered.

I am exactly the same, Sugarmouse. Trouser shopping is the worst, because I have biggish hips and a big bum (which I do actually like) but I'm quite short, so everything looks or feels ridiculous. I get hand-me-downs off my best mate too, who constantly buys clothes and decides she doesn't like them. But either way, shopping for lower half clothes sucks and is perpetually depressing, and I always go home feeling overweight and really unattractive.

If you feel like that looking like you do, there's no hope for any of us!

I rather like rooting round vintage/charity shops for old mod/skinhead/suedehead gear.... The search for the 'Holy Grail' ie old Jon Wood or Brutus shirts, Faith Royal brogues, Big E Levi 501's, Levi Sta-prest.....:D

Its proper annoying as most nice clothes don't suit me, or I can't pull them off due to my useless figure...also im soooo not creative so i cant just wap everything together and look mint :( so i feel for you. have you ever thought of hiring a personal shopper?!

i heart shopping for clothes: either for myself, or for my friends. i tend to do most of mine online though - which is probably why i still have enthusiasm for shopping jaunts for other people.

I don't mind shopping, but I hate changing rooms.

If I'm unsure of sizing so not buying online (returns are pure arse) I like to check websites and see if it's worth actually going shopping.
Excitingly New Look have finally bothered to put the 'inspire' (fat) range online.

Ok drag0n - you are now the reason I have no money to go out this weekend cos I've ordered a dress, a shrug and two tops.

Just got back from yet another abortive trip to find some new clothes. 3 trips I've made now to find something that doesn't look completely shit on me and each time I've come back empty handed.

Where on earth do people find clothes that look nice? I'm so depressed about it now! I've got it into my head that I wouldn't look so crap if I had some decent clothes but I can't find any.

Rant over, as you were....................

:(

I like to have a few good quality staple items, such as a coat, some polo shirts, some sweaters, some well-fitted trousers and a few pairs of nice shoes. They get replaced via the internet every few months.

You're better off just buying some good quality clothes that'll last. It's better than coming home with bags of cheap gawdy tat from Primark. And as someone mentioned above, buy your clothes online. That way you don't get any of the hassle from clothes shopping.
