I hate clothes shopping!

best time to go clothes shopping is early in the day - not so many people about, not so frustrating. (not that that will actually help you find clothes to fit you...just makes the whole thing a bit easier...)

I don't know anyone who's the same size on the bottom as the top, and baggy clothes really won't make you look or feel good.

It's true.

I used to buy size 16 to fit round my chest, but actually, where the shoulders and across the back were too big, it was making me look larger than I actually am.

Shirts and blouses are the worst for this, so I tend not to bother with them.

And sometimes, even if you feel like a fitted garment would show the bits you want to hide, actually, the silhouette it gives detracts from your perceived problem areas and makes you look fab. :)

i'm right here...anyways i stick to my initial advice to moomoo regarding asking other women where they got their clothes from.

of course no one mentioned this helpful comment

I don't mean to pick holes in your advice, but a) it's easier said than done, and b) in all likelihood it will be from one of the main five high street women's clothes shops, where it's extremely hard to find something that fits you correctly.

I seem to be something like a 12 on the bottom and an 18 on the top. But some 12's are too small and 14's are too big.

if you have the same problem as me (size 12/14 all over but big boobs) you should try bravissimo's new clothes lines. expensive, but flattering. havent tried em yet myself, but look good and can be ordererd on line and then sent back if they dont work. no effort.

Isn't that a real hassle though? I'm such a weird shape that I can't buy anything without trying it on so there would be all the problems of returning it etc
online shopping is superb :) you get to try stuff on at leisure, with the contents of your wardrobe (so no, "will it go with that top" etc)

I buy nearly everything I wear for work from dorothy perkins, marks & spencers and next :D and some trousers from tescos :o

I've got some trousers from Tesco and they are my all time favourites for work.

What's the sizing like at Dorothy Perkins?

it can be a bit random, but thats the joy of online shopping, just send it back (returns for DPs are free)

I don't wait till I need something, I'll have a nosey around the websites and order the things I think look nice :)

this

high street has loads and loads of "collections" through the year. some things only seem to hang around a couple of weeks. browsing becomes a habit - the only danger is when you hit a run of good luck, being able to say to yourself "stop!":o

ebay is good, too.

there are only a couple of places that sell trousers the right length for me so I stick with some shops - I also find next online ordering fucking stupid  and their stocks can often just disappear so fast you don't get a chance :D

There's a couple of catalogues that are bearable for day to day stuff, Moomoo - try La Redoute and Marisota. Both ok-ish and don't make the generous of bosom look like Ma Larkin! At least catalogues can let you humiliate yourself in private.

I hate, loath and detest shopping for clothes more than I can say - I've never been on an expedition that didn't make me feel like crying / taking a a broken glass to my wrists / starving myself for the rest of my life before I got home. I wear jeans, black t-shirts and black jackets out of work and black trousers, t-shirts and jackets in work. That's it.

I don't mind clothes shopping, but I do dislike a lot of clothes shops. So tend to buy online, which has it's own problems. I do tend to go through phases of liking certain designers, usually which I can not afford that easily, I like One True Saxon at the moment.

I'll try those sites, thanks Ceej. :)

<pricks ears>

Brum? Room for an odd-shaped person who badly needs cheap clothes?

Absolutely! The more the merrier! :D

Great excitement when I found two dresses in Tesco today that I loved!

Except the biggest size they had was a 16 and they wouldn't even meet around my boobs. :(

Can't find them on the website either! Bugger!

I'm seriously considering going on a starvation diet, I've had enough of this.

God I have the opposite problem - I love clothes shopping and am pretty good at it, having worked out my "style" (well I like to think so anyway :o). Result: a wardrobe that is bursting at the seams.

I am (currently) a 12/14 and I can never find a dress that fits round my boobs. I either buy size 16-18 if you can cinch them in at the waist or wear separates. It's very tricky with big tits :(
