I gotted a new job. Yay.

Congrats spangles - and gaijingirl ...

... and ME

yes folks, you CAN drop everything and completely retrain in an entirely unrelated field - it only takes nearly 5 years of dithering, bimbling, and relentless scrounging off a long-suffering partner! ;)

time estimate should be taken as a guide only - your mileage may vary depending on your innate levels of sheer workshy incompetence

i will be GAINFUL as of Monday, working in a really nice new company, run by lovely people, putting all my new skills to use

can you spell YAY!

i am so smug right now you could almost literally bottle the sheer volume of oleaginous smug i am exuding and use it to lubricate Jeremy Clarkson's cum-stained wordprocessor for the next billion years

lol
nice one fff, so that wher u been, learnin yerself!

congrats to all on this ear thread  :)

Woo hoo! That's right good news. Nice on Ms Spangles!

You should go out and dance on Saturday in a Serious Business stylie.

Been forever since I've seen you...ok, so I think I've probably met IRL about twice but what the hey!

EAL is English as an additional language - which in my school means mostly refugees and asylum seekers. I did a lot of work with them last year (in the same school) and it was what I enjoyed the most! I'm so excited about that part, I have all kinds of plans and projects I'd like to run. MFL is modern foreign languages, which in my case means French, Spanish and Japanese (as it's a language college). I'll probably also get to do some primary. So I'm going to be very busy.... :D

It's a massive relief, I was beginning to get very very down about it after 2 years of no salary, studying hard etc etc...

I've just seen this and am SUPER SUPER excited for you both!!! I know how much you've been wanting a change, Spangles and GG, your role sounds perfect too! Champagnes all around my clever girls ... :) :)

Nice one all 3 of you - sounds like getting teaching work that ticks all your boxes is near impossible!! Good luck with the new roles.

GG - does this mean no return to Japan??
