The only thing I keep a tub of sea salt for is to make a mouthwash for after tooth extractions (sadly a few of late) as it's the best and cheapest thing to use.

But like crustychick said up there ^^ a lot of preprepared foods have enough salt in already.

It is very difficult to not get enough salt. Even if you eat a 'natural' diet (no readymeals) you get plenty of sodium (which is what your body needs, rather than salt). If you eat pre-made stuff, eat bread or biscuits then the chances are you are eating more than the rda. The vast majority of the salt we consume is 'hidden' in stuff, rather than what you put on your chips![]()

And you'll be using a hell of a lot less salt than buying a loaf... I've just read that Hovis's white, extra thick has 1g of salt PER SLICE!

guinnessdrinker said:since there is so much salt in processed food, there is no need to add any, anyway, unless you shun these products completely and avoid caffs or restaurants.

That's ok then, making your own bread is commendable. And you'll be using a hell of a lot less salt than buying a loaf... I've just read that Hovis's white, extra thick has 1g of salt PER SLICE!
